Iris's Story
Meet Iris!

Breed: German Shepherd / Malinois Mix
Age: 11 months old
Weight: 38 lbs (fully grown 45 lbs)
Friends: Excellent with other dogs!

Her Story
Iris came into the shelter completely shut down, overwhelmed by the loud noises and bright lights. The world felt like a very scary place for this sweet girl, and she is still actively learning how to just "be a dog." But thanks to time, patience, and a dedicated foster home, Iris is showing us just how resilient she truly is!

In Her Foster Home
- Iris is making phenomenal strides! She is doing worlds better than she was even a single week ago. While she is still getting used to the rhythms of a normal home, her true personality is starting to peek through.
- The Ultimate Dog Friend: Iris loves other dogs. In fact, her canine foster siblings are her biggest source of comfort and inspiration! Spending time with other pups is exactly what helps her explore her surroundings and build up her confidence.
- Finding Her Voice (and Her Confidence): As Iris has started feeling safer, she's actually finding her voice! Playful barks when she's playing with other dogs
- Learning to Trust: Iris is a bit of a wallflower when it comes to human affection right now. She is starting to interact with her foster parent much more-especially when she watches the other dogs do it first-but she isn't quite asking for pets entirely on her own just yet. She needs a patient home that will let her blossom at her own pace.

The Ideal Home
Iris would do best in a patient, gentle home-ideally with another confident resident dog to help continue showing her the ropes.

If you have the time and love to help a sweet, cautious puppy realize that the world is a wonderful place, Iris might just be your perfect match.
