Indigo!'s Story

Indigo (Indi) is a sweet little medium energy chihuahua mix. She was born around 5/10/2025 and is currently 14 lbs.

Indi is sweet, smart, playful and affectionate. She enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to romp around the house and yard playing chase with them. She likes chasing lizards, birds and squirrels around the yard. She is beginning to play with toys and will occasionally chase a ball. She likes bully sticks and other chewy bones and toys. In the evening she likes couch time and cuddles with her family.
Indi can be shy when meeting new people but has shown she will warm up with slow, gentle introductions and treats. Once she is comfortable in a home she is friendly, responsive, affectionate and submissive with her humans.

Indi is crate trained, learning to walk politely on a leash and enjoys walks and hikes. She is doing well with house training in her foster home. Indi currently lives with dogs of various sizes and gets along well with them. She also lives with dog savvy kitties but might challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Young children would likely overwhelm her so only dog savvy kids over 14 are recommended. She loves a yard and is an alert barker so no apartments for her.

Indi desires to be a large part of her family’s life and wants to be included in daily activities. She would not be happy being left home alone daily for long hours.
Indi would likely do well in a home with another friendly, young dog to pal around with, help show her the ropes and keep her company while her humans are away from home. Someone who has the time, patience and willingness to work with a shy dog would be ideal.

Indie is a delightful, sweet little dog who is waiting patiently for her forever home.

Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......visit our website https://siarescuers.org/ to learn more about our rescue group and adoption process.

Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. The dogs shown on this site are in foster homes, we do not have a shelter to visit.

EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
