Indiana (courtesy post)'s Story

Indiana is a five and a half month old pit bull mixed breed puppy (as of 3/19/26) who is friendly, playful, vaccinated and house-broken. He has learned basic commands such as sit, stay, down, middle, heel, come, spin, chin and fist bump. Indiana is crate trained and does beautifully in one. He is extremely smart and food-driven. Training him on tricks and commands is a breeze. He is high energy and a has a strong prey drive so gets too excited around cats to be in a home with them. He is dog selective but learning to get along with others. Due to Indiana being all puppy, he might be too playful and jump on toddlers so is best suited for a home with older kids. He has had only limited interaction with kids.

His current caregiver rescued him from a neglectful situation Jan, 2026 and has been working to find him a home or shelter placement. He is not at our shelter but currently still with his rescuer, who is willing to sponsor or pay the vet bill to have him neutered. If interested in adopting Indiana, please email his caregiver at egoodwin272@gmail.com or text 252.269.1938. Do not call as unknown numbers are blocked.
