Inca's Story

Inca is a 4 year old, mixed breed. In April 2025, she was brought to the shelter with her "brother", Elton, after they were both found as strays. Inca is spayed, updated on her vaccinations, flea treated, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped.

While we don't know much about Inca's background, we do know that she's a super sweet lady with an eagerness to please and charming personality that sure to melt any heart. Inca is a social butterfly that loves to be around people in whatever adventure you may be up to. She enjoys walks and playtime, but isn't yet sure of how to play with toys.

Inca gets along extremely well with adults, but would do best in a home without any young children and would prefer to be the only pet unless adopted with her "brother", Elton. She will need some additional work on her housetraining, but she does know several of her basic commands such as "sit", and walks well on a leash.

If you are interested in adopting Inca, please fill out an adoption application using our website (echumanesociety.org) and a member of staff will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Elk County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Adopting a new friend from the Elk County Humane Society is really very simple. All you have to do is fill out our application for the dog or cat you are interested in. This can be done right at the shelter or by filling out the online application on our website. The application contains some questions to help us get to know you better. Supply a few non-family references that can vouch for your ability to care for an animal. We do require any dog or cat at home to have a valid/current rabies vaccination and you will be required to bring proof when adopting. When the paperwork is all done a "meet and greet" with other family dog(s) will be encouraged. Once everything is approved, we will fill out the paperwork to make it all official, unless the pet is not yet spayed or neutered then they will be put on foster until they are fixed. If it doesn't work out, don't worry! We offer a 90 day return policy where your adoption fee will be refunded if your new pet turns out to not be the best fit. All dog adopters must leave the shelter with either a yearly or lifetime license before adopting their new best friend. Easy, right?
