IGGY's Story

IGGY

Meet Iggy! This sweet girl came to us from rural Kentucky after her owner sadly passed away, leaving three dogs without a home. One was adopted by our vet partner in Kentucky, and Iggy and her friend Tilly made their way to Lucky Dog Refuge rather than risk ending up in a kill shelter.

Since then, Tilly has found her forever home, and now its Iggys turn!

Iggy is about 6 years old and has been living in foster care for the past several months. Having the chance to settle into a home has helped us get to know her even better. Iggy can be nervous in new situations, but once she has time to get comfortable and learn that she is safe, her sweet personality comes through.

She does very well in her crate and has made wonderful progress building her confidence. Iggy is looking for someone who will understand that she may need a little time and patience when adjusting to a new environment and wont rush her before shes ready.

Iggy is selective with other dogs and would do best as the only pup in her home. She can absolutely have doggy friends—with proper, thoughtful introductions, she can enjoy canine companionship—but at the end of the day, Iggy would prefer to come home to a space of her own.

After losing the only home she knew, traveling from rural Kentucky to Connecticut, and watching her friend Tilly find her forever family, Iggy has been patiently waiting for her turn. We think its about time this sweet girl gets her happy ending, too.

TO APPLY, GO TO [www.LuckyDogRefuge.com](http://www.LuckyDogRefuge.com)
(Petfinder messages will not be seen.)

**PLEASE NOTE:** We do not know the exact breeds of our dogs; any breeds listed are our best guesses and are not guaranteed.

No dog is guaranteed to be perfectly housebroken when entering a new home. Even dogs who are accustomed to a shelter or foster routine will need time to learn the routine in their new environment. Please be patient as they adjust, as accidents may happen during the transition.

**DIRECT APPLICATION LINK:**
https://www.luckydogrefuge.com/adoption-application.html

Thanks for considering a rescue pup!

Lucky Dog Refuge's Adoption Policy
Generally, puppies and adult dogs have an adoption fee of $600; senior dogs have an adoption fee of $350. However some dogs may have a higher adoption fees based on the extent of their training or other factors. We also may have "legacy dogs" whose higher fee help offset the medical costs of some of our emergency cases. Fees are set at the discretion of the rescue. The adoption fees covers only a portion of the expense the rescue spends on the medical care, housing, and transport of each rescue dog; the rest is covered through fundraising efforts. - The first step towards adoption is to complete an adoption application, which can be found online at our website www.LuckyDogRefuge.com, under the “Apply Now” tab or at https://forms.gle/LXKMKSnagxLSad668. - Do NOT use the Petfinder links or email to ask us about our adoptable dog listings - we do not always receive these messages and will not respond to them.
