Iceberg's Story

*Update* Iceberg has lost +40 lbs now! Iceberg is a four-year-old Doberman mix with a heart as big as her personality. This sweet girl recently came into the care of Big Hearts for Big Breeds, and while she has some significant health and weight challenges ahead of her, she’s already proving to be an incredibly loving and easygoing companion.

At approximately 145 pounds, Iceberg is currently extremely obese and likely needs to be closer to 60 pounds for a healthier, more comfortable life. The Big Hearts for Big Breeds team is working closely with veterinary partners to ensure all of her medical needs are addressed and to rule out any underlying conditions contributing to her weight gain.

Despite everything, Iceberg remains wonderfully friendly and full of joy. She appears to be kennel trained, potty trained, and does well with just about everyone — kids, dogs, cats, and especially food. She’s currently settling into foster care where she’s beginning a healthier routine filled with steady nutrition, regular walks, swimming, and lots of encouragement (and playtime!) from her foster friends.

Iceberg’s journey won’t happen overnight, but she finally has the support she needs to feel better and enjoy life the way every dog deserves. With patience, medical care, and continued love, we’re excited to watch this special girl transform and thrive.
