Ian - Jul 26's Story

Looking for your next furry BFF?

We don’t have perfect dogs — but we do have dogs who are perfect for the right someone. Our goal is to match each dog with the home that fits them best and each home with the dog that will sing to your heart.

Ready to adopt? Please note all of this is an estimate only since we do not know who his parents are
Spayed/Neutered: No

Adoption Fee: $1 - Ian is priceless. Ian needed a rescue and we stepped up for him. Now we're looking for a family to step up for him for his life and money should not be a factor. Donations to our rescue in lieu of an adoption fee of the amount you feel is appropriate would be gratefully accepted.

Fence needed? After nutritious food, clean surroundings and parasite treatment, he stood, walked and then ran—showing us that beneath that terribly depleted little body was a normal, happy puppy waiting for a chance.

Please note - if you want to skip the text and go straight to the application, you can find the link here: www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/application/

Must have: Someone with the time and patience to raise, train and socialize a young puppy
Exercise: Daily puppy play, short walks as medically appropriate, mental enrichment and regular opportunities for safe, off-leash exercise
Best with: A loving family that enjoys a thoughtful, affectionate companion and will include him in everyday life
Not ideal for: A home where he would regularly spend long days alone or receive little interaction, training or exercise
Energy level: Playful puppy energy with a calm, observant side

Ian is our little “old soul.” He plays with his siblings and tries to keep up with Bowie’s adventures, but he is equally happy snuggling beside a senior poodle and quietly watching the world go by.

Good with dogs: Yes—he enjoys other dogs and is comfortable with puppies and gentle adult dogs
Good with kids: Not yet confirmed
Cats: Not yet confirmed
Fun fact: Ian was scheduled to leave for a specialized medical rescue because he could not walk—but before transport day arrived, he was running. We realized then that the most special thing about Ian was his heart. And he had all of our hearts. We asked the NY rescue to let us keep him and place him ourselves and they were very gracious and agreed. We know what it takes to set up intake and it can be disappointing when an intake does not work out. I am grateful that this group gave us the chance to see little Ian all the way to his forever home.
Potential Adopters

Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either!
