Hyacinth 's Story

Hyacinth is about 10 months old. (April 20, 2026) She was a stray along with her siblings. She hasn't had much training in her young life, but she's smart, receptive, food motivated, and a fast learner.

She gets super over excited with people because she wants all the love and attention she can get!

She needs some work with potty training, but it's coming along. She walks on leash, but still needs to learn not to cross over and trip her humans...she is super agile and can climb a 6 foot chain link fence, and get on to kitchen counters..

But finding a home, where someone will teach her what she shouldn't be doing, and rewarding her for acceptable behaviors, will be very easy.

She has been great with other dogs her since so far, we haven't yet tested her with larger dogs or cats. She's so friendly she would likely do well with children BUT she is an escape artist, so families should teach their children to use extra caution when opening doors. We certainly don't want her to get out and get hit by a car.

Her adoption fee is $650, that includes her spay, vaccines, deworming, flea treatment, and microchip.

She has only been at the shelter for a couple of weeks, so even if someone would like to foster her, and teach her the ropes before she gets adopted, would be wonderful.

An adoption application and home visits is required..

You can apply for her by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser.

www.lowermainlandhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/
