HUXLEY's Story

HUXLEY - ADOPTABLE
Meet Huxley, a little dog with a big, goofy personality and a whole lot of love to give
Age: 2 years
Breed: Short-haired Chihuahua mix
Weight: About 12 lbs (small)
Grooming: Standard
Ideal home: Patient, adult-only home
Dogs: Needs to be the only dog for now
Cats: No
Huxley needed a little time to find his feet when he first arrived in foster care. But once he felt safe, it didn’t take long for his silly, sweet personality to come out! Watching a dog start to relax and be themselves is such a special part of fostering, and this little guy had plenty of personality waiting to shine
His favourite things? A good game of fetch, a chewy snack, and flopping straight into your lap for cuddles. Once he’s comfortable with you, he’s your loyal little shadow, happy to be close and soak up all the love.
Huxley already knows his basic commands, happily shares his toys, and has shown no food aggression in foster care. He’s still polishing his leash walking, practicing good house manners, and learning how to enjoy human attention calmly. He’ll need someone who will keep working with him patiently and celebrate his progress along the way
We’re looking for an adult-only home where Huxley can be the only pet, with no cats or other dogs for now. Someone who will give him time to build trust, let him settle at his own pace, and offer a consistent routine with clear, gentle guidance.
You don’t need to rush your way into Huxley’s heart. Give him the time and support he needs, and you’ll get to meet the cuddly little goofball his foster family has come to love.
Could you be Huxley’s person?
