Hunter's Story

Meet Hunter! Hunter is a very handsome 5 year old purebred chocolate Labrador Retriever who was surrendered by his owners by no fault of his own. Hunter was well loved by his family but they needed to surrender him as they had to suddenly leave the country on very short notice in order to re-apply for their work visa and weren't sure when they could get back to the USA. Hunter is currently in a kennel until we can find a foster or foster to adopt or adoptive family to get him back into a home. If you have a place in your heart and home for this goofy, big boy, please contact us at info@brooklinelabrescue.org

Hunter is a very good boy who loves to play fetch, get scratches and splash around in their baby pool. He previously lived with children and is reported to be very good and very tolerant with them. He loved to run around his big fenced yard and go for walks. He even would go to work with his Dad and supervise the site work. Hunter is fabulous in the car and loves to go for rides and hops right in ready to go!
The family reported that he is affectionate, friendly, playful, independent and confident. He walks well on leash and the family said that he ignores all other dogs while out on walk even if they are barking at him.

He has played off leash in his yard with a small breed dog, and loved playing chase with him. He is unknown with cats.
Hunter is crate trained and settles well when in the crate. His family was typically mostly home so he only spent 2-3 hrs in the crate during the day and overnight when he was younger. Hunter is very food and toy motivated and knows several commands, like his sit, come and leave it but a "FUN FACT" to go along with that is that he is a Spanish speaker and only responds to commands in Spanish.

Hunter is UTD on vaccinations but will need to get neutered.

Hunter is an active happy boy who loves to play and get attention. Hunter deserves to be back in a home getting all the love and affection that he was so used to! Please consider opening your heart and home to this amazing boy!
