Hunney - LOCAL's Story

If you are looking for your soul dog, look no further!!

Hunney is a 4-year-old, 60-pound mixed-breed sweetheart with a heart as golden as her name. Like a drop of honey, she's warm, comforting, and impossible not to adore--especially when she melts right into you for a cuddle.

Hunney is housetrained, gentle, and happy to play fetch or enjoy a neighborhood walk. She has a nice moderate energy level; no marathons required (she'd definitely vote no), but a daily walk or two and some yard or toy time suit her perfectly.
She's incredibly smart and highly food motivated and would love someone dedicated to continuing her training.

Outside, Hunney enjoys playing catch, doing zoomies, searching for rabbits, and basking in the sunshine. But her favorite place is wherever her people are--curled up close like a cozy spoonful of honey.

She is exceptionally snuggly: leaning into you, draping across your lap, or tucking her head under your arm or even under the blankets with a contented sigh. Her favorite place to be is under the covers, wrapped in a cozy blanket. After activity, she becomes a full velcro cuddlebug who just wants to soak up affection and give it right back.

Hunney can feel unsure around unfamiliar dogs, so she'll need patient, slow introductions and may be happiest as your one-and-only canine companion.
Her ideal home is calm and low-traffic, with a steady routine and loving humans who appreciate a laid-back, loving companion.

Hunney was born with Carpal Valgus (an outward turn of one paw). It's purely cosmetic and causes her no pain. When the zoomies strike, she simply tucks her "funky arm" up and races along happily on three legs. Since reaching a healthy weight, it's even less noticeable--just one more endearing detail that makes her Hunney.

If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate, extra-snuggly companion to sweeten your days, Hunney may be your perfect match.
