Meet Hulkie! <br/>Age: 1 year 9 months approx.<br/>Gender: Male (Neutered)<br/>Breed: Australian Cattle Dog American Bulldog Mix<br/><br/>Hulkie is a goofy, affectionate, playful boy who loves his people and LOVES other dogs! He has been doing amazing at doggy daycare, meeting new people and lots of dogs, and would thrive with a family who enjoys getting out and about and including their dog in their adventures.<br/><br/>He’s curious, energetic, and loves toys, walks, exploring, and especially water — he has officially discovered that he’s a water dog! Due to his high energy levels, does best with an experienced handler. <br/><br/>Hulkie is looking for a patient and consistent family who will continue building his confidence and help him learn at his own pace. Hulkie is alright with children ages 3-12 with introductions, not suitable for families with infants or toddlers as he can be a little nippy. He does best with people who understand dog body language and respect his boundaries when he’s feeling overwhelmed. He is still working on his crate confidence and can become overstimulated at times, so continued positive training will be important. Hulkie is more confident and bonds more with women than men, but with slow introductions and positive reinforcement will come around. <br/><br/>Hulkie does have some handling sensitivities. He can be a little nippy when he's overstimulated, may guard toys, and does not like to have his belly or hind end touched. Previously snapped/bared teeth when his hind end was touched and growled when unexpectedly woken up. Hulkie gives clear warning signs when he doesn't like something. He would do best with someone who responds to his boundaries and calmly redirects him!<br/><br/>Hulkie is good with dogs, cats, and new people. A canine companion would be a wonderful bonus for this social boy!<br/><br/>He’s ready for his forever home and would love nothing more than a family to call his own.<br/><br/>Currently being fostered in Ottawa.
