Hughes's Story

Hughes whom we have lovingly started calling Champ is a sweet boy.
The name Champ seems to fit him well because, he is the champ at winning everyone's heart with his sweet demeanor and big smile. He is the sweetest love bug that wants to give you all of his love and a million kisses. He loves everyone that has come into our home and will greet them with said kisses. He really can't hold his licker!

He loves his big floppy ears to be scratched, and will make cute noises to let you know when you scratched the perfect spot.

I have not heard him bark, even when someone knocked at the door.

We are working on kennel training and he is doing great. He sleeps all night in his kennel, but if you wanted a snuggle bug, he would be happy to keep you warm. He will go into his kennel with a treat.

He may love the lake life because he loves a bath. He hopped into the tub and enjoyed his bath, I wish every foster was that easy, I wish my own dog was that easy at bath time!

He thinks he is a lap dog and will slowly work one paw at a time onto your lap if you are not paying attention. He does it so gently that you may not even notice until he is snoring in your lap.

He is potty trained. We are working on walking on a leash. He does well with a harness. He walks best with our dog because he wants to be right next to her. He enjoys being by his foster dog sister and would love to play with her but she is older. He is very sweet with her and would probably get along well with any dog.
He travels great in the car either in a crate on long trips or free in the car on short trips.

He loves toys but hasn't quite figured out why he has to give them back to you to throw again. It's more fun to just chew it.

Champ isn't asking for much out of life. He really just wants 2 things, to give you all his love and a ball!
