Huey's Story
You're in my spot...if you know, you know.

We can imagine that's exactly what Huey would say to whoever sits in his spot on the couch. You're welcome to sit next to him, though.

Huey is a hunk of love. Just look at that big block head. He has zero concept of personal space-loves people and wants to be close to them at all times! This 5-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix, weighing about 55 pounds, is filled with love and affection for his people.

Huey is fully housetrained and sleeps all night quietly in his crate or in 'his spot' on the couch. Huey has the perfect amount of energy. He loves to play with his toys , run around the backyard , then crash. He knows sit, kennel, and off. When on a leash, he is a strong dude and wants to keep moving, which causes him to pull.

Huey gets along with other dogs with a slow, proper introduction and supervision. When playing with doggie friends, he doesn't always want to share his toys, so when toys are out, it's important to be watchful. Other small animals or cats are probably not a good fit for Huey. This big meathead likes kids but gets a bit too happy around them, so older kiddos may be best for him. If you have errands to run, he'd love to go right along with you. He promises you can listen to whatever music or podcast you want as long as he can stick his nose out the window and take in all the new smells.

Mr. Huey would do best in a home with people who understand dog cues. He is a couch potato at heart , and if someone comes to the door, oh well, he'll let you get the door. He's certainly not a guard dog and couldn't care less if somebody knocks. His foster tells us he'd do best as a solo pet. He thinks it's fun to go on a walkabout , so a 6-foot fence is needed.

Huey is such a sweet boy and wants love from his humans. If you have a spot on your couch for him, apply today. Approved adopters will be contacted to schedule a meet-and-greet. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $175.

Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org
