Howie's Story

Meet Howie, a 10-year-old Coonhound looking for his forever home. He comes from an unfortunate hurricane-related situation in Asheville, North Carolina. Howie loves to roam the yard, taking in all the smells! He would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard because he is known to go on little adventures if he gets loose. He is an escape artist so a fenced yard is a must for his safety. While he's good with other dogs, he's an old gentle soul who prefers to keep to himself and can get protective over his food during mealtime.

Howie is house trained and crate trained! He loves to sleep on his dog bed, preferably in a crate in the corner of the room (his nook). He’s good with strangers & strangers, and walks really well on leash! He's up to date on all his shots and in good health. The only thing Howie does not like so far is car rides!

As a senior dog, Howie is looking to spend his remaining years in a loving home with people who will show him patience, give him belly rubs, and take him for walks. If you’re interested in meeting this sweet boy, please reach out to me!

P.S. he snores during the slow parts of movies and loves to bark at cars ?
