Hound Mix Puppies's Story

Surrendered locally, we have 4 male & 3 female puppies up for adoption. Mom has not been breed tested but is expected to be a English Foxhound. Dad is unknown, so they will likely be a mix. Photo of mom in the last picture.

They will be ready to go to homes at roughly 8 - weeks of age, December 14th. Get your applications in now!

Research on the breed tells us Foxhounds are active & headstrong. We are looking for adopters that are themselves active while also patient and committed. Expect a chatty dog, as vocalness is their love language. Foxhounds are also typically good pack dogs and may do best with friends in the home or close relationships with dog friends. They are also typically very sweet in nature.

Getting a puppy at 8 weeks means you can encourage behaviours you want to see. Working with a dog professional early, will help you learn how to best guide your nearly adopted pup to being their best self. Taking obedience classes (of your choice) are required to adopt dogs from SOS and further guidance from a trainer is recommended as needed.

If you want to adopt more than one, please specify that on your application and also let us know how you will support their growth individually as well as together. Adopters must have a flexible schedule to support every few hours for the first few months.

Apply here: https://www.saveourscruff.org/adoption-application
