Hoss's Story
7/16/25-
????Please Share!????

Are you looking for a good boy?? We sure have one for you!!

Foster to adopt home needed!

Everyone, we'd like to reintroduce you to Hoss, a sweet Hound/Lab with a sprinkle of Shepherd, perhaps, mix that we took in prior to the Holidays. This beefy almost one year old pup is getting ready to celebrate his Birthday, still in his foster home. Hoss is already over 50# and will likely be 60+# full sized. Hoss loves the company of dogs, and is very sweet, but a bit shy with people at first.

Hoss has been doing very well in foster and is housebroken, in fact, he will ring a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. He is crate/kennel trained and even happily sleeps all night in his kennel. Hoss comes when he is called, loves his ball and Kong toys and playing with his big foster brother. He is a great snuggle buddy when watching TV at night and he knows “sit” and “down”, too.

This sweet boy will take some patience when introduced to new people - he really wants to make friends, but is not too sure about new people. Once he feels comfortable, however, his personality will shine ! He is a great puppy to have in the house but will need a dog buddy to help him feel more confident and comfortable when he joins a new home.

Hoss has learned the basics now, and he is ready to go to a new family where he can get love, attention and lifelong companionship. He promises to give the same in return. If you've been looking for a mellow puppy that already has some of the basics down, Hoss may be perfect for you! Let's give Hoss the perfect 1st Birthday gift, a forever home!

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked to cover a portion of his veterinary and care fees. He has been examined, vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and neutered.

Due to his size and age, adoption requirements are:
-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-A home with another likesized dog is strongly recommended but he had not been cat tested as of yet
-Like all pups, he will need a little patience and consistency at home so he can grow into the best pup he can be
-Homes with children over 8 years old should be ok since he is a very sweet and gentle pup, but a bit shy
-Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure he is an acceptable match.
-Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet.

Apply to foster to adopt today! https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form

Foster to adopt home needed!
Take some time to get to know Hoss before committing to adopt!

Everyone, we'd like to reintroduce you to Hoss, a sweet Hound/Lab with a sprinkle of Shepherd, perhaps, mix that we took in prior to the Holidays. He reverted back to being a shy puppy, fearful, shivering and very anxious sobthia boy would do best Having another dog around for companionship, confidence and having a pal for play, friendship and love!

12/4/24-

Looking for a forever home!

Everyone meet Hoss, a sweet Hound/Lab with a sprinkle of Shepherd, perhaps, mix that we took in ~4 weeks ago. He was in another rescue who had him and his brother since birth. At ~4 months old at that time, we knew they needed our help so we took them in. Upon arrival, we realized that both are very beefy pups so they will likely be 60+#full sized. They are 4.5 months old at this time and already 30#!

Hoss has been doing very well in foster and is housebroken, crate trained and actually a very mellow fellow for a puppy. He likes playing with the other dog in the home, but is also content chewing on one of his many Kong toys or rope bones. Hoss is very sweet, but needs a little time to get to know people before he gives them his heart. With a little time and patience, once he knows he is safe, he will nestle in to you and chew on his toys while being perfectly content. With the NY weather, he hasn't had a lot of work on the leash but with consistency and time we believe he will master that too.

Hoss has learned the basics now, and he is ready to go to a new family where he can love, attention and lifelong companionship. He promises to give the same in return. Buster and Hoss are part of a litter of puppies that were born in rescue and had no interest in adoption in their previous foster home. In order to give them a chance at a new life and a new home they wanted to move them to another rescue and thats where we stepped up.

They are happy and sweet pups ready to start their journey to new homes and new lives. We believe they are probably Labrador/Hound and possibly Shepherd mixes, currently 4 months old and under 30#. They will likley be about 50-60# full grown. Both pups take a little while to warm up to people but have tails tucked and waggin the whole time. They are in foster and working on housebreaking and leash training and are doing well with the other dogs in the home.

Once ready for adoption, an adoption donation of $450 is being asked to cover a portion of their veterinary and care fees, but fostering is free. They have been examined, vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and will soon be neutered.

Due to their size and age, foster to adopt requirements are:
-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY to continue their vetting as needed in the upcoming weeks.
-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-They should do fine with dogs and cats in the home due to their current temperament and smaller size
-Like all pups, they will need a little patience and consistency at home so they can grow into the best pups they can be
-Homes with children over 8 years old should be ok since they are very sweet pups
-Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match.
-Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet.

Apply to foster to adopt today! https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form
