Hoshi's Story

Hoshi is a rare Finnish spitz breed that is about the size of a German Shepherd., 75# He is pretty low key energy in the house but is one to explore outside. We are not adopting him out to be a loyal dedicated companion for an active family that will take him for long walk daily or run him at a dog park to help burn off some energy. Hoshi has been around cats and dogs does well with all. Foster parent indicates that once he acclimated into the home he became playful with the other dogs. He has been around children as young as 5yrs old and does very well. He will need a fenced yard or means of confinement...he does have experience with E-collars for training (in the past) so he may do ok with invisible fencing.. Hoshi does not have experience with livestock or defending again bears/wildlife but he'll certainly let you know when the mailman comes to the door.
Please do research on the breed, they tend to be a dedicated 1 owner dog. Hoshi does take a little bit to warm up and bond to his humans but not aggressive by any means. If you can get through the initial phase of adjustment, you'll find he's a terrific loyal companion.
If you want more information, feel free to contact the foster parent directly at (218)640-1930, call or text.
