Hoppy's Story

Hoppy’s owner passed away and nobody in the family stepped up for this handsome boy who is very shy. He is curious about what can be found in the grass on walks, but it takes some patience to convince him to leave his sanctuary (kennel) and tread outdoors with different people. There is no “fight” in this dog which makes him very safe to be around, but his “flight” response is highly tuned up and special care to keep him from running away is critical until Hops knows you. Transported from a shelter down south, Hoppy (Hops to his friends!) came in with another dog still in the shelter there, so it is likely that Hoppy will make other dog friends when the chemistry is right. Estimated to be around 5 years old, Hoppy looks to have a lineage of sporting dogs in his DNA but that fluffy curling tail is throwing everything off! Now that this boy has had some time to process his new surroundings, for those dog lovers who don’t mind waiting for Hops to check them out, it is a sure thing he will never leave your side once he belongs to you.

You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.

Link to application: https://www.angelridgeanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Dog-Application.pdf
