Hopper's Story

He was born in January 20 25 andHopper is one of the larger Pups to the Stranger Things litter. Hopper was surrender to me at around six months of age, and he like his siblings was very emaciated. He fell ill approximately a week with me that resulted in an emergency room visit. There was a possible gastric obstruction, so he remained there overnight on IV fluids to see if anything would pass. Nothing ended up passing through his gastric system during his stay, and re-evaluation of abdominal x-rays after 24 hours demonstrated a clear abdomen with no evidence of an obstruction. He was more than likely, very dehydrated from having such severe diarrhea since arriving to me.

Hopper is a lover and he wants nothing more than to be beside you to get pets and cuddles. Just like his other siblings, food is a very high valuable item for him. This will need to be ongoing training with any of the puppies to prevent resource guarding and food aggression as they get older. They were limited on food for a very important time in their life, which has made food a very valuable item in their minds.

Just like his siblings, Hopper required vet prescribed food for the few months that he arrived to the rescue. He has since been able to transition to Royal Canin large breed puppy food and is tolerating well. Any change in diet does result in diarrhea again, so please keep that in mind when transitioning his food.

If you are interested in adopting Hopper, please go to our website,
www.secondchancemusherarescue.com to find our adoption requirements and fill out an online application.
