Hope's Story

1/11/26:
Foster to Adopt Home Needed!

We would like to reintroduce everyone to Hope, another one of the Lab's you may have been following that was surrendered to our rescue after being severely malnourished and neglected in the Adam's area.

Hope is a Black Labrador Retriever mix believed to be ~6 months old and 30# now. This little sweetie had a rough start in life, but wants nothing more than love at this time. Despite several of the humans in her life letting her down, she still has a genuine love for people and keeps a smile on her face whether meeting someone new or greeting her caretakers daily.

Hope is definitely ALL puppy and is behind in her training, through no fault of her own. She is looking for a foster or foster to adopt family to take her home, show her love and start her on the training that will help her to be the best girl possible.

Due to her history, we believe she would do best with larger, active dogs and a fenced yard. She likely will be too much for housebolds with cats since she doesn't understand her size and strength. We know there has to be a good home out there for her, somewhere...maybe yours?

Over the past two months we have seen this girl shine. We need someone now to offer her a home so she can finally put their past behind her.

An adoption donation of $500 is being asked for Hope if you chose to adopt but fostering is free. She is current on her exams, vaccines, had screening labwork, she has been on prescription flea and tick as well as heartworm medications and she has been spayed. All she lacks now is you!

Remember, the first step in our adoption process is the veterinary reference check. Please be sure to give your veterinarians office a call first thing in the morning so your application does not get put at the end of our list.

Due to her size and age, foster or foster to adopt requirements are:
-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-A home with other likesized or larger dogs should be ok since she lived with dogs before but she will likely be too much around cats, however.
-She will need a little patience and consistency at home so she can learn some basic training to be the best girl she can be
-Homes with children over 10 years old should be ok since she is very sweet but doesn't realize her size and energy levels.
-Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure they are an acceptable match.
-Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet.
-Homes with fenced yards will be prioritized.
Apply to foster to adopt today! https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form

11/20/25:

Foster to Adopt Home Needed!

We're going to take a few minutes to tell you a story about one of the dogs that you may have been following on our Facebook page. The story started with Hope and Chance, then included Charity as the days went on. This is a story about giving a dog a much needed second Chance.

We were made aware of their story when they were brought in to our veterinarian's office on Nov 11th as strays, very emaciated. After making a few phone calls, it became clear that it wasn't the first time they were found running, and they weren't strangers to Dog Control. Unfortunately, their poor body condition wasn't a recent development, either.

After getting talked to by a law enforcement officer, the owner realized he could not properly care for the dogs and they were signed over to our rescue for care. Hipe was about 4 months old and only 14# on intake.

Please copy and paste a completed adoption application from our homepage with your inquiry if you would like a response back. We get multiple inquires each day with only an hour of "free time" to volunteer and answer them around our full-time jobs and family life...don't let your inquiry get passed by because of an incomplete application. Thanks in advance for your help!

Help our rescue by donating to our "Spay the momma fund". When adopting one of our babies, if each new family would contribute an extra $10 we can help out that babies mother by assisting with the cost of her spay. Help turn the momma into a pet rather than a breeding factory, donate today!

Adoptions for this pet are limited to an 80 mile radius of Pulaski, NY and pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required. Check out our homepage for a full list of our adoption requirements.
