Hope's Story
Hope is a two-year-old Belgian Malinois and French Bulldog mix who is looking for a structured and patient home. She has experienced transitions recently, which makes her naturally cautious and eager to secure a bond with her handler when entering a new environment.
In daily life, Hope is a high-energy dog with incredible athletic ability. She is exceptionally clean indoors and is fully house-trained. Once she knows who her person is, she becomes a shadow, following from room to room and staying close by. She gets along well with other dogs. On walks, she exhibits some initial pulling due to excitement and environmental awareness, but she settles down into a manageable pace after the first few minutes. Because of her mild separation anxiety and initial fear of new spaces, she will try to look for an exit if left unsupervised in a yard during her transition period.
Hope is a deeply loyal, intelligent dog who shows immense gratitude once she feels safe. She is not a demanding dog in terms of complex behaviors, but she thrives on being near her human and sharing their space.
Her ideal home is with an active owner who understands working breeds or high-energy mixes. Her new family must be committed to keeping her on a leash during walks and ensuring she is never left alone in a backyard until she is fully settled. She needs someone who can provide a predictable routine to help minimize her initial anxiety.
Hope settles well once a routine is established, offering a steady, devoted presence to the person she connects with.
