Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a meet & greet with you and Honeycomb.

Honeycomb is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible for meet & greets!

Meet Honeycomb!

Honeycomb is a 3 year old female husky / Carolina dog mix. Honeycomb was brought into a high kill shelter as a stray with her 3 little babies. She managed to keep them safe on the streets and in the shelter until we had a foster step up to pull them all to safety. Honeycomb is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and ready to find a family to call her own! Honeycomb is a small - medium sized girl, weighing in at just 40 pounds.

Honeycomb is dog friendly and currently lives with another dog in her foster home. She's very playful and enjoys playing with other dogs. We would say that Honeycomb has a moderate energy level. She enjoys running in the backyard and chasing her toys, but turns into a couch potato after she's had her fun in the yard. She LOVES chasing toys and returning them back to you and is a sucker for cuddles and belly rubs. She's a champ at fetch! She's very submissive when meeting other dogs and even rolled over on her back for a small dog she met on leash once.

Honeycomb was briefly in a foster home with cats and she did not pay any attention to them! We're also happy to do a meet and greet with your cats prior to adoption since she doesn't currently live in a home with cats.

Honeycomb has been around children at events and is always very sweet and gentle! We would suggest a home with children ages 5+ just due to her playfulness.

Honeycomb is fully potty trained and only does her business outside. She is also crate trained and goes into the crate when her foster mom is away from the home for work or errands. Honeycomb is great about sharing her food, toys and treats with her doggie foster sibling. Honeycomb walks well on a leash and will stay calmly by your side.

Here's a small blurb about Honeycomb from her foster mom:
Honeycomb was a little shy when she first came to me and she took a little while to fully open up, but when she did, we became fast friends! She is SO loving, sweet and loyal. She LOVES to play fetch and loves human affection. She's a huge fan of belly rubs and her tail will wag nonstop when you are talking to her in a sweet voice or giving her attention. She's a great sleeper and will curl up and sleep all through the night in bed with me. She's always in the best mood when she wakes up. She would love another dog in the home as she really enjoys running and playing with her doggie foster sibling. She is shy when meeting new people and will just stay by my side to know she's safe or go into her kennel. She truly is a sweet girl and so fun to be around. She is always happy and playful. She is the BEST at fetch without any cues. She'll go get her squeaky football or a tennis ball and run after it and bring it back and drop it close to you. She will also happily lounge around and relax on the couch for a good nap. Once she trusts you, she'll be your best bud hanging out with you on the couch or in the bed or backyard.

The only "quirk" we have noticed with Honeycomb is that she is nervous when meeting new people. We would love a family who will be patient with her. It doesn't take her long and once she trusts you, you'll be thick as thieves! We think that Honeycomb would really thrive with another dog in her forever home.

Honeycomb would LOVE a yard to run and play in and someone who will play with her and her toys as she really enjoys this. She really just wants a loving home that will give her affection and patience. She also loves her Kong toys filled with peanut butter.

If you're interested in learning more about Honeycomb or applying to adopt her, please fill out an adoption application below!
