Honey (HoneyBear)'s Story
Dog's name: Honey (HoneyBear)

Age: 1.5 Breed: Anatolian/Lab Current

Size: 70 lbs.

Size potential: Grown/large

Leash Trained: yes

Crate Trained: yes

Potty Trained: yes

Kids: kid friendly

Other animals: good with dogs and cats, shares food and water bowls with both species.

Energy level: Medium

House or Apartment: House with yard

Story/Background: Honey was found abandoned on a county road with very little population. She was so emaciated that the vet felt she was not pregnant, however, she was actually only three weeks from her due date and delivered eleven puppies, ten of whom survived. She wanted to be with the person caring for her while she delivered the pups and allowed the pups to be picked up and dried off and checked without any apprehension. She on rare occasion limps for a minute or so after jumping around, perhaps due to an injury being hit by a car after being deserted, but no injury is evident and normally she has no issue and runs and plays without any indication of it. She is UTD on shots, tested negative for heartworm and is currently on a HW preventative, as well as a medication due fleas/ticks/ parasites. She is a healthy weight now. She knows "sit," allows her nails to be trimmed, and walks on either a leash or a slip lead. She is protective and alert barks. Ideal home/family lifestyle: Honey would do best in a home with a family with an active lifestyle (hiking, swimming, playing ball). Though not high energy, she needs activities with mental stimulation.
