Honey's Story

Honey is hell on wheels - smart, opinionated, and high energy. This girl has lots of love to give, and tons of trouble to get into.

Honey came to Cameron Animal Rescue from Associated Humane Societies of Newark when they had no additional room to house animals. She was found as a stray, and her history is unknown. Honey is a living example of many husky characteristics in a small body (the only pomeranian sign we see). She is incredibly smart, but also quite stubborn. She has very, very high energy, and loves to play with everything she encounters, including water bottles and pinecones. She also has an incredibly high prey drive, and spends walks scouting for squirrels, rabbits, birds and anything chaseable. Fortunately she's not nearly as subtle or graceful as she thinks she is, and she has not caught anything. She can be mouthy when she is excited or nervous. She can be nervous with new people, and her mouthiness increases in frequency and force if they handle her. Fortunately she is gentle with people she knows, and adjusts to new people quickly.

Honey is a healthy 3 year old girl. Her adoption includes - her complete series of DHLPPi (distemper), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; fecal testing and deworming; heartworm and flea/tick preventive for 1 month; spay; microchip; 30 days of free insurance. She is fully house-trained.

Honey must be an only pet- she cannot safely be around cats, smaller dogs, or guinea pigs/rabbits/etc. She is interested in same size and larger dogs, but introductions must be made very slowly. Honey should not live with young children, but experienced teens may be ok. Honey must be adopted by an experienced owner who has extensive history with similar breed dogs, and a yard with a high fence so that Honey is able to exercise appropriately and safely.

Email CAHadoptions@gmail.com for more information.
