She was rescued with several other dogs. She’s been in foster care since May and is slowly blossoming into her sweet self. While initially shy around new situations and loud noises, Honey is a gentle soul who loves to be loved. She enjoys cuddles, kisses and playful interactions with her canine foster brothers.

An ideal home for Honey needs to be patient and understanding. Honey requires a family who can provide a calm, predictable environment. She needs someone who will understand and respect her need for time to adjust to new surroundings. She is used to doing things her way. She needs a leader to take the worry of decision making from her. Honey will benefit from guidance from experienced dog owners who can help her learn basic commands like sit, stay and come. Honey still will need to work on getting in and out of a vehicle and walking on a lead. She will need a dog-friendly home.

Honey enjoys the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly canine companion, ideally a confident dog who can help her feel more secure. For this reason, another dog will be required. A quieter home with minimal loud noises would be ideal for Honey’s sensitive nature. Older children are something that Honey would welcome. She has interacted with kids that are older than 7. Honey needs a secure and safe environment. A secure physically fenced yard and home without excessive noise are crucial for Honey’s well-being. It is unknown how Honey is with cats.

Gentle and patient training methods are essential to help Honey build confidence and learn new skills. Honey is trained to go into a crate but needs encouragement to get out of the crate. If you’re looking for a loving and gentle companion who will reward your patience with unwavering affection, please consider giving Honey her forever home.

Honey is being fostered in Hartford, MI. Any adopter must reside in Michigan, Northern Indiana or Northern Illinois. Honey has a $350 adoption fee. She is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, had a heartworm test, fecal test, has been microchipped and looked over by a vet.

***If you are interested in adopting Honey, please directly email glgrr2003@gmail.com to learn more about his adoption process.
