Honey * ADOPTION PENDING *'s Story

Honey is an adorable French Bulldog new to our rescue. She came to us from a family who were no longer able to provide proper care.

Honey is 2 years old and weighs 13.8 kg (30 pounds).

Honey’s foster family describe her as a friendly girl who loves to be with her people - she loves people in general! She is very social and is happiest cuddling on your lap. She is not used to young children so we will only consider homes with older children (12 years +).

In her previous home, Honey spent long hours alone in her crate. For that reason she needed some housetraining. She has come a long way and now rarely has accidents but her adopter must be able to let her out often during the day. Honey would not do well being left alone for long hours. She’s spent enough time confined all day in a crate! We feel she is best suited to an adopter who is home for most of the day to continue with the progress she has made with her house training.

Honey is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She is also quiet in the house.

Honey loves to go for walks and is good on leash. She travels nicely in the car. She knows many commands. Honey must be walked on leash and can not be trusted off leash. We feel Honey is best suited to a house with a fully fenced yard because at this time, she is not comfortable going to the bathroom on leash.

Honey shares her foster home with other dogs and cats. She gets along well with all but initially was a little bit pushy with the smaller dog.

Honey loves her treats and food. Her foster family are teaching her that their food is not hers - she will gladly swipe food from you if you are not paying attention. On a good note, she is very treat motivated which is awesome for training.

Honey is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. She is negative for heart worm and tick borne diseases. She is sensitive to chicken but has been fine with other proteins like fish and beef.

If you are interested in adopting Honey please see our website (www.adoptadogsavealife.com) for more info on our rescue and adoption.

Our adoption process includes an online application, a telephone interview, a virtual or in-person home visit, reference checks and a meeting with the dog.
An adoption fee of $500.00 applies.

Honey is in a foster home in Newcastle, ON.

***Honey’s bio may change as we learn more about her.
