Honey's Story

She was dumped in a cemetery in NC. For days she never left that area- filled with hope that her person would return for her. When Diamond Dogs Rescue was told of her and how sweet she was, there was no way we could have left her to wait for someone who was never going to return. Now she's fully vetted and was picked up by her foster/trainer to learn there are better people in her life this go around. Her foster mom says, "she is sweet as honey, hence the nickname she earned the moment I met her. Her loyalty and devotion to a family that failed her is remarkable. While she is with me she will get lots of exposure and socialization, good citizen training and will learn leash walking and doggy manners to get ready for her new family". She is only 2/5-3 years old. Past the puppy issues but still full of life. Her foster family loves her and says she will make someone a perfect little companion. They call her travel sized. She loves to play with other dogs. She does play rough and sometimes does not take corrections when to quite. Her crate skills and house manners are wonderful. Working on the leash. Foster said "if we didn't have so many dogs we'd keep her"<br/><br/>Consider this incredible girl for adoption. She's the perfect age and the perfect size and the perfect dog.

Our Mission
Our rescue focus is on adult dogs from the southeast that are in high kill shelters.  Our plan is to fully vet as needed, evaluate and train as needed in preparation for adoption.  We place our rescues in a foster home setting to prepare our dogs for a home of their own and to determine the best match for that rescue.
