Honey #12's Story

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our
adoption application
so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours
(please check your spam folder for our emails)
.

Honey | 12-week-old Aussie mix | Sweet snuggler with a silly prance

Honey is an 12-week-old Aussie mix who is equal parts playful puppy and cozy cuddle bug. She’s a white-and-tan sweetheart who loves toys, chewing on balls or bones, and curling up under the covers whenever she gets the chance. Honey is very affectionate—she’ll rest her head on you, offer her paw to ask for love, roll over for belly rubs, and happily snuggle in close. She’s friendly and easygoing, has had wonderful interactions with both kids (ages 3 and up) and larger dogs, and fits right in with a calm, family-style home. She has a medium energy level and enjoys playtime but is just as happy being lazy on the couch afterward.

Like most puppies her age, Honey is still learning the ropes. She’s working on potty training and will whine or stand by the door when she needs to go out. Leash training is a work in progress—leashes are currently scary, though she doesn’t mind wearing her harness. Crate training has been challenging so far, and she hasn’t been left home alone yet, as she tends to whine or bark when separated and may get into mischief.

Honey is food-, toy-, and affection-motivated, knows “come,” and is eager to keep learning with patience and consistency. Her ideal home is a calm, loving environment with kids and other animals, where she can continue growing into the confident, happy dog she’s meant to be.

If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for this pet is
$450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit)
. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.

Please fill out an adoption application by clicking
here
. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.
