Holly's Story

Hi friends, my name is Holly, and I have quite the story to tell! I’m a beautiful 4-year-old reddish Cocker Spaniel girl, 18 pounds of sweetness, and I was found wandering the Everglades by a kind Good Samaritan who changed my life forever. Where I came from, nobody knows — but where I’m going is somewhere wonderful, and I just know it.

When I was rescued, I had a few of the classic Cocker Spaniel struggles — ear, eye, and skin infections — but my amazing rescue team got me all taken care of. Unfortunately I just learned I tested heartworm positive and will undergo life-saving treatment to get rid of all those awful worms. I expect to make a full recovery and I can still search for a forever home while I’m undergoing treatment. I feel good and I’m very happy little girl (watch my video). Sometimes the best chapters start after the hardest ones, and I truly believe mine is just beginning.

I am, if I do say so myself, an absolute sweetheart. I’m quiet, calm, and incredibly affectionate — the kind of girl who just wants to be close to her people and soak up all the love. I get along great with other dogs, dog-savvy kids, and we think I’ll be just fine with cats too! I’m a dream in the car and walk beautifully on a leash, so adventures together are definitely in our future.

Now, I do have one area where I need a little help — I’m not yet housebroken. Life before rescue didn’t exactly give me the chance to learn the basics, so I’m looking for a patient, loving adopter who will help me figure it out. Some training classes together would be so fun too! I’m a quick learner with the right person in my corner, and I will love you endlessly for your patience.

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, storybook girl who just needs a second chance and a little guidance, I might just be your perfect match. Come find me!

Apply to adopt me at www.floridacockerrescue.org
ADOPTION FEE: $395
