Holly Berry's Story
Giving birth is hard work without any meds; and, giving birth inside a loud, noisy kennel is pure torture when a mother is trying to protect her young. But this young girl did it and not a one was stillborn.

Beautiful Holly was to be pulled days after her pups were born by several rescues; but, failed several times over, this mom and infants waited patiently. Fosters agreed and backed out, rescues had no room and other groups believed the pups would not fit their program. So, Holly sat with her infants for three long weeks waiting for help to arrive.

Holly and her NINE infants arrived at Godbey Creek Canine on Tuesday, just before Christmas Eve. We aren't sure the infants had ever been outdoors and, with the temperatures at 65 that day, they seemed to take notice and soak up the sunshine. Holly Berry is between 5 and 6 years old, good on the leash and crate trained. She keeps a spotless kennel too.

No doubt they will find wonderful homes because their size is ideal and each one is uniquely precious. Still, it is no surprise that infants are a struggle for organizations to help when they are infants. In addition to requiring a lot of time and cleaning, they need several trips to the veterinarian in the early days. They get sick easier than adults and, fortunately, we keep them in a separate quarantine building.

Holly comes with our standard medical package which includes her spay, microchip, rabies, parvo-distemper and bordetella. She has been de-wormed, is heartworm negative and is on flea and tick as well as heartworm prevention.. The puppies will come with similar offerings but will need to be returned to us for their spay / neuter.

If you believe your environment and family are a match for Holly or one of her nine children ....., please contact our rescue at 336-972-4511 OR submit an application.

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph (first four + Cupid are female; other four are male)
