Holly's Story
Update, March 2026. Holly had the surgery to plate her broken front leg. She has about 3 weeks left of crate rest before she can live a normal life. Holly is a totally different dog. She is doing amazing.

Holly is a miracle dog. Once she is healed, she will make an incredible companion for someone. She LOVES kids. LOVES dogs. LOVES every human she meets.

Holly is everything good in the world wrapped up into a beautiful hound soul.

Holly was found army crawling through a ditch by some VERY kind people. We happened to see their plea on facebook and offered to help this girl.

When we first got her, she was mess. She had a shattered pelvis, broken front leg, and had some neuro deficits. She could not walk at all and was using the bathroom where she laid. We got estimates for surgery and were quoted $10-$25,000 and with the neuro deficits, it may not even help her. We made the VERY hard decision to love her for the rest of the week, keep her pain controlled, and euthanize her at the end of the week.

Well, Holly had different plans. The day after we made that decision, she woke us up walking and wagging her tail. She was a totally different dog. Her neuro deficits were gone. We can't explain it other than once she had a proper cast and proper pain control, she was able to move and felt a TON better.

Its been about a month now (feb 2026) and she is a totally different dog. She is so happy, so funny, and loves with her entire heart. If she had her way, she would run and play but she isn't currently allowed to due to her injuries.

On February 12, she is having surgery to correct her fracture of her front leg. The orthopedics agree that now that she has totally improved drastically, we can let the pelvis heal on its own.

Apply here to adopt: https://www.turtlepantsfarm.org/adopt
