Hiro's Story
Hiro is a handsome 3-year-old male Shiba Inu weighing about 22lbs. This lovebug is a fun, quirky pup who thrives in a peaceful and relaxing environment. He’s a little nervous at first, taking about a day or so to settle in. After that, he’s right at home.
Hiro loves people and other dogs. He is very affectionate on his own terms. While he doesn’t love kisses on his head, he’s happy to lean in for cuddles when he’s ready. And when he’s ready, he forgets all about personal space, choosing to be wherever his people are.
Hiro loves small spaces, so if you can’t find him, just check under the bed or behind the sofa. Speaking of small spaces, Hiro doesn’t mind a crate as long as he isn’t alone in the room. This clever pup wants company and has successfully unhooked his crate latch to find it. He craves companionship and feels stressed when isolated.
Hiro has a mischievous and playful side. Whenever he sees himself in a reflection, whether in a mirror or fireplace, he stops to take in the view. Hiro is what we call a collector. Small or big, slipper or pen cap, he will pick it up and carry it around. Not to worry, he understands the “drop it” command. Hiro is the typical young adult with normal energy for his age. Leash training is in progress. He’s housetrained and will do his business outside. This little guy is motivated by turkey, ham and tuna.
Hiro’s ideal home will be a low-stress, calm environment, with at least one other friendly dog. He will do best in a home with humans who are often home or can include him in their plans. His forever family should understand the unique Shiba personality and have the patience to meet his needs. Hiro is sweet, quirky, clever and so deeply lovable. If you are looking for a loyal, silly, reflective-gazing Shiba who likes to collect objects and brighten your days, Hiro is your perfect match.

Please note-this breed is not for the first time dog owner.

Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments.
