HIPPITY's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.HIPPITY hails from the Northern community of Sandy Lake and came south with his brother, Hoppity, to find his forever home. He’s received two sets of puppy vaccines, a microchip, Interceptor Plus dewormer and has been deemed a healthy boy by his vet. The “Easter Duo” were found all alone with no parents so the breeds we have him listed as is just an educated guess based on what he and his brother look like and the same can be said of the size he’ll grow to be as well.
HIPPITY is such a gentle, quiet boy with the softest nature. He does like to cuddle up to you but he’ll also let you know when he’s had enough and wants to get down again. He loves socializing with anyone new and everyone’s always greeted by a happy, tail wagging little boy. He is your typical active, fun little puppy too who runs around and plays with his many toys and the squeaky the seem to be his favourite ones. He also has a few chewy toys including a Nyla bone to help with his teething.
HIPPITY’s excellent in his crate and he sleeps soundly through the night in it and he’ll also have a nap in there during the day as he now knows it’s his safe place to go. He’s also doing great with his housetraining and he’s picked up on the concept of it so quickly and he’s about 90% there. He really is a smart boy and seems to know exactly what’s expected of him and he’s always looking for you to give him direction. He loves to go on walks and gets excited when he knows he’s going on one. He wears a harness when he walks so there’s no tugging on his neck. One of the cutest things he does is graze on his food as he very rarely finish his meal all at once. After a while he will paw on his bowl and eat the remains kibble if the floor. He’s very well mannered and at meal times he’ll “sit” nicely for them and he’ll also take treats “gentle.”

HIPPITY’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors and to go on hikes and walks in the woods. He does need a family that’s had a Husky before and understands the complex nature that comes with the breed. In his case, he’s a very good boy now but without the breed experience he could easily become more challenging the older he gets. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive, especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He has another puppy he’s fostered with (Galaxy) and they get along really well together. He has several cats in his foster home but they don’t really interaction with him. If there’s either a cat or dog in his new home we always strongly recommend a slow, monitored introduction while he’s leashed for the first few times they meet or interact. He should do well as an only pet in the home provided he’s not left alone for long periods of time and definitely not crated for more than a few hours during the day. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving, gentle and kind towards animals. He does requires a fenced-in yard so he can be kept safe while he has a run around and play outside.

HIPPITY, like all puppies, is cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need his adopter to be in agreement to take him for puppy/obedience training to help him to become the best boy possible. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and his adopter must be in agreement to have him neutered by the time he’s 9 months of age or 60lbs (whichever comes first.) The surgery will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the neuter requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a picture of him (preferably in a cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the picture on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.

If HIPPITY sounds like he’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him.
