Hinnie's Story

Meet Hinnie!

If you're looking for a buddy, not just a dog, but a good and loyal lifelong friend... Hinnie is your girl. Like most good relationships it may take a little bit to earn her trust. Because of her past, she doesn't give trust freely. However, once you're in the circle, you're in for life. She will just melt into your arms. She has a silly bark and a gorgeous and unique coat. She is very guarded in the shelter and that may be why she has been overlooked. She may come across as a bit grumpy or anxious, but we are finding out that AWAY from the shelter? She is a whole new girl! We found out she even enjoys car rides!

Hinnie is around a year old and weighs around 35-40 pounds. She was found as a stray and no one came to claim her. Once in the shelter, she developed mange and had to go through treatment. Her hair is starting to grow back beautifully and you can now see her unique coloring again! Due to her missing hair (and the weather!) she hasn't loved walks, but she does feel braver on a walk with a buddy by her side.

If you are interested in adding a pup like Hinnie to your family, we would like to suggest taking her on a day date first. Get to know her outside of the shelter and see what this wonderful girl has to offer!

To set that up, please head up to Taney County Animal Control and ask for her by name!
