HILDEE - Foster to Adopt

* House trained
* Crate trained
* Walks well on a leash

Hildee is estimated to be 2 years old and is 37 lbs.

Meet Hildee! This stunning beauty weighs in at 37 lbs and is an all-around GREAT dog. Hildee is housebroken, crate-trained, good on a leash, loves to play, and overall loves life - especially her walks! She gets compliments on her unique features (especially those eyes) everywhere she goes while minding her manners. Hildee escaped euthanasia at an area shelter because she was a volunteer favorite. We are always so glad to save dogs like Hildee.

Why do we need a Foster-to-Adopt? Hildee is not ready for straight adoption yet as she is heartworm positive and needs to get through treatment before she can be spayed and get medically cleared. We take the care of our dogs seriously and want everything handled before adoption is finalized.

While Hildee is in a home with other dogs she would do best in a home with no other dogs or very submissive dogs as she is learning her doggy socialization skills and can react inappropriately if playing gets too rough. She's that friend who is always down for whatever the other dog is....playing or just chilling out. While Hildee is not in a home with children, she has meet children on the street and seems completely fine with them.

As a Foster-to-Adopt parent, you would be responsible for giving Hildee a loving and safe environment while YLDR finishes addressing her medical needs. All medical needs are handled by the group until adoption is finalized so the benefit of a situation like this is taking the time needed to make sure Hildee is the right fit without feeling pressured by a timeline. A potential home would need to be sure they are ready to nurse her through both heartworm treatment (we will guide you) and a potential orthopedic surgery if needed. We offer the support, we just need the commitment from a home. If you know of someone who recently lost a beloved pet and misses the companionship but is not quite ready for the commitment of another dog, Hildee would be a great candidate to help mend a broken heart!

For more information on our process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. You can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details that are not included in this biography.

PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives.

The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue.

We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
