Hilde's Story

Hi, my name is Hilde. I am what they call a pocket pitty, | weigh about 40 lbs & I'm very low to the ground, I'm full of muscle! I love to run, I love to jump, I love to play! I
have lots of energy, the biggest thing I enjoy doing is sitting on a bench with the
people that take care of me. Showing me so much affection being in their lap, sometimes I think I only weigh about 5 Ibs but of course I don't, I do act like it though! I have a small fear of men - sadly in my past the man was very abusive to me. Once I learn that you're not going to harm me I get over that fear quickly. I have two men here at the rescue that take care of me. I do love them dearly! I hope that my nervousness with some men won't keep anyone from wanting to meet me. Sadly my breed is stereotyped and that has been held against me. I've been here at the rescue for four years, I was adopted for a short period of time but was returned due to someone in the house being scared of my breed. I have lived with a Shih tzu & I have lived with a Beagle mix - I loved playing with them. We played ball, we chased each other and had a good time, but I understand that the world says we're a bad breed so people do hold that against us. I'm good on a leash & I love to go for walks! I love to go for car rides though I'm a little afraid at first. I am happy here because people have been very good to me, but I know that this isn't my final home. This is just where they are good to me, they've taught me to love and trust and for that I'm very appreciative. I hope that you'll give me an opportunity and schedule a meet & greet to meet me! All I want is my own loving family! I am crate trained, house trained, good on a leash and I love to play ball!! Please give me an opportunity and don't just see me for my breed.
Love,
Hilde
