Hickory's Story

Meet Hickory!

Hickory is a confident, happy-go-lucky puppy who is always ready for his next adventure! Whether he's exploring the yard, cooling off in the pool, or running and wrestling with his foster siblings, this sweet boy loves being part of the fun.

What really makes Hickory special is his easygoing, calmer-than-average puppy personality. He absolutely loves to play, but he also knows how to settle down and enjoy some quiet time. He is affectionate, friendly, and happiest when hes around his people and canine friends. He loves playing with other dogs and is learning to read and respect their boundaries. At just 25 pounds, dogs around his size would be ideal companions for him. Once playtime is over, Hickory is just as happy to curl up with his foster siblings. He also does great with kids!

Hickory is a smart, eager-to-please boy who genuinely enjoys learning. He knows or is working on sit, down, wait, okay (release), yes (marker), come/here, and touch. He has very good recall, is kennel trained, and is doing wonderfully with potty training. He may take a few minutes to settle in his kennel, but once he gets comfortable with a cozy space and a few toys, he settles right in.

Honestly, Hickory is the kind of puppy people hope for. He has the fun, silly, playful personality that makes having a puppy so special, but he is also easygoing, affectionate, smart, and already off to such a great start. He would be an especially wonderful choice for someone looking for their first puppy or for someone who wants a puppy who has already learned some important foundations.

Hickory still has plenty of growing and learning to do, but he makes it easy. He's eager to please, loves his people, enjoys other dogs, and is happy to go from adventure time to cuddle time without missing a beat.

If you're looking for a truly special, well-started puppy who is as sweet and easygoing as they come, Hickory just might be your perfect match!

Apply to adopt Hickory linktr.ee/zoisanimalrescue
