Hershey aka Roxie's Story

Hershey is a 5 year old shepherd and is as sweet as her name implies. She absolutely loves humans and does great with strangers, but she will bark when the doorbell rings to let you know the visitors have arrived.. She knows all of her basic commands - sit, stay, down, and she is house broken. She would love an active home where she can play and get out some of her shepherd energy and will need some more work on her leash manners and walking at her human's pace. Hershey has not been exposed to other dogs since being placed in her foster home, but she was surrendered with a male dog, so we believe she would be ok with another dog provided the introduction was done properly.

Mit Liebe German Shepherd Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy

All MLGSDR rescues are given a thorough check-up by our vet, including heartworm and parasite testing, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and given age-appropriate vaccinations. They are then placed in foster care for at least (3) weeks, taught basic obedience and manners and socialized before they are available for adoption. All adopters are required to complete a basic obedience class with their new dog as stated in the adoption contract.
