Hero was surrendered to a shelter when his owner did not have the funds to properly take care of him. He was emaciated and completely bald with a very treatable and non-contagious affliction called Demodex. Hero is about as close to a complete angel as a dog can be. You will sense the very second you meet Crusty, now renamed Hero that to be with him is to be bathed in love. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a spiritual experience. Gentleness and love embodied with his gentle kisses. He has a very soft and gentle mouth. Hero is excited to meet anyone who crosses his path and that is why we think he will make an excellent therapy dog. If there is a member of your household with perhaps anxiety issues, this dog would be a perfect, calming presence. Truly just make for a couch and cuddles. He is a lower energy dog.<br/><br/>Hero has endured two medicated baths per week, treatment of antibiotics and is now just about healed. His hair will take another few months to completely grow back. Hero is housebroken, leash-trained, good with other dogs, cats, kids, does not bark a lot or do destructive chewing. He doesn't jump up on people and adores every person he meets.
