Hero's Story

Meet Hero! A Little 3 year old Yorkie with a BIG Personality
He is looking for a loving, patient home where he can receive the time, attention, and companionship he deserves. His family is now away from the house over 10 hours a day and they want him to be in a home where he isn’t alone so much.

He’s neutered, full of energy, and has a playful personality. When he’s comfortable, Hero loves running around, playing, and being part of the action. He also enjoys being held and spending time with his people.

Hero is a typical Yorkie and will let you know when someone is at he door!
He barks at unfamiliar people when they enter his home. He can be nervous around strangers and needs calm, patient introductions to feel comfortable. He’s shown that he can do very well in calm, structured environments, including visits with his veterinarian and groomers.

Hero is accustomed to using pee pads indoors. He has limited experience living with other dogs, although he has gotten along with his owner’s brother’s German Shepherd.

A note for potential adopters: Hero has had an incident in which he bit someone and broke their skin. He can be reactive toward unfamiliar people, and his behavior requires thoughtful management, patience, and an experienced adopter willing to work with him. Further details about the incident can be provided to serious potential adopters.

Hero’s ideal home would be with someone who understands small-dog behavior, can provide consistent positive-reinforcement training, and is willing to give him the time and patience he needs to feel safe.

His current family is making the difficult decision to rehome him because they want him to receive more time and attention than they can currently provide.

We’re hoping to find Hero a special person or family who will love him, understand his personality, and give him the wonderful home he deserves.
Please contact Linea at (510) 579-5850
