Herman's Story

Meet Herman — Your Future Gentle Giant 💙

Herman is a 5½-month-old bundle of love who truly doesn’t realize how big he’s going to be — in his mind, he’s still a lap puppy, and he plans to stay that way! This sweet boy adores affection, cuddles, and being as close to his people as possible. If you’re looking for a snuggly, people-loving pup, Herman is your guy.

He’s wonderful with other dogs and loves having canine friends. He has also met a cat and, given his young age and easygoing temperament, should transition well in a home with feline companions. Herman is very good with kids, though because he will grow into a large dog, guidance and boundaries around small children are recommended — not because he’s rough, but because happy, playful giants can accidentally knock little ones over.

Herman came to us at about 4 months old severely underweight due to starvation. Since then, he’s gained healthy weight, strength, and confidence — and he’s absolutely thriving. Despite his rough start, he is joyful, trusting, and full of love.

He’s still working on potty training and doing well — when accidents happen, they’re often right by the door, which shows how hard he’s trying. He’s a smart pup who learns quickly and will continue to improve with routine and consistency.
Herman is a special boy with a gentle heart and a bright future. He’s ready to bring love, laughter, and oversized cuddles to a lucky forever home.

If you’re ready for a loyal best friend and a lifetime of big hugs, Herman is waiting to meet you. 🐾
