Hera Love's Story

Meet Hera Love - a 6-year-old, 58-pound spayed female who is equal parts couch potato and self-appointed squirrel patrol officer. She is happy, goofy, sweet, and playful, and she walks around with a smile so uniquely her own that once you see it, you simply cannot forget it. She carries herself with the kind of cheerful confidence that only a truly good girl can pull off.

Hera enjoys chasing a ball and takes her squirrel-watching duties very seriously - she will post up at the window or the fence and keep the neighborhood fully informed of any squirrel activity. When she is not on duty, she is more than happy to be a full-on couch companion. She is looking for an adult-only home and is not a good match for cats, so a quieter household is really her sweet spot.

A note on her health: Hera tested heartworm positive, but here is the great news - she has already received her last heartworm treatment shot. All she needs now is a retest in a few months to confirm she is cleared, and she will have a totally clean bill of health. She has done the hard part. She just needs someone willing to do the easy part: bring her home and love her.

Hera has been at the shelter since January 2026. She has waited long enough. Please give this sweet, smiley, potato-shaped girl the forever home she deserves.
