Hera's Story

Hera
3 years, spayed female, 10 lbs
Chihuahua mix

LIKES: people, snuggles, exploring the yard, sleeping, being silly, other dogs

DISLIKES: being left behind, having her nails trimmed (but she's lived through it)

PERSONALITY TRAITS: This is a super sweet, loving, pretty chill dog. She would burrow under the bed covers if allowed, in true Chihuahua fashion. She's somewhat protective, in that she has been known to bark at perceived threats. Hera is learning to walk on a leash. She hasn't shown interest in toys but has played with the older dog at her foster home on occasion. Then she naps - at a pro level. So she's an easy keeper.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Hera isn't perfect in this department, but she's nearly there. Regular visits outdoors make a big difference. She has been left home for 5+ hours and not had an accident, as long as she spent time outside for a while first.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: We haven't tried because she's shown zero interest in that scary box.

EXTRAS/MISC.: Hera would probably do well in a home with another dog, so shed be less insecure when left home alone. Shes met a few children and would probably enjoy some of her own, but she does tend to jump in happy excitement when she first meets anyone, so that might be a consideration if you have small ones. Cats? Not sure. Fine in the car though.

To further inquire about HERA, submit an application:
https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/

Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how HERA will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.

Our process is NOT a first come, first served process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.

We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for HERA, as well as her future family.
*Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, OR
ADOPTION APP: https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/
