Henry's Story

Looking for a big, handsome boy with a sweet personality and plenty of love to give?

Meet Henry!

Henry is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing approximately 60 pounds, and he is hoping that his forever family is out there waiting for him. He’s a wonderful combination of a big fluffy companion and an adventure buddy who would love nothing more than to have someone of his own to spend his days with.

One of Henry’s favorite things is water! Whether it’s splashing around, cooling off, or simply enjoying a little time outdoors, Henry is a water-loving boy. He also enjoys car rides, so he would make a great companion for someone who likes to take their dog along for the ride. Imagine Henry happily riding along with his head out the window, ready to see where the next adventure takes him!

Henry is also crate trained, which is a huge bonus for his future family. He understands how to settle in his crate and can appreciate having his own comfortable space.

Henry likes other dogs, but when it comes to finding his forever home, he would really prefer to be the only pet. He wants to have his people all to himself and be the center of attention. His ideal home would be one where he doesn’t have to share his family with other pets and can truly settle in as someone’s special companion.

Henry does need to be fed separately, so his future family will need to be comfortable making mealtime a little more structured. This is an important part of setting him up for success, and giving him his own space to eat will help keep everyone comfortable and happy.

Despite his size, Henry is still a young dog at heart. At just 3 years old, he has so many wonderful years ahead of him to spend with his family. He’s looking for someone who will give him patience, consistency, love, and the chance to show just what a special boy he can be.

If interested in meeting Henry, please submit an application here: https://fjcasp.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application/

Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets's Adoption Policy
At FJCASP, we dedicate a great deal of love, time, and resources to caring for our animals, and our top priority is to see them go to permanent, loving homes with people who have the knowledge and means to provide proper care. Adoption Fee: $100–$150 Vet References Required We require that all potential adopters provide veterinary references. This allows us to confirm that any current or past pets have been kept up to date on vaccinations, preventatives, and are spayed/neutered. Most veterinary offices are familiar with this request. Our goal is to ensure that our animals are placed in homes where they will remain safe, healthy, and properly cared for. Long-Term Commitment Adopting a pet is a serious, long-term commitment. We want all potential adopters to understand their responsibilities and be prepared to care for an animal for its lifetime. Home Requirements To provide a safe environment, we require that adopters provide: - Proper shelter for the animal - Understanding of how to introduce a new pet to children and existing animals -Commitment to keeping the animal as an indoor pet Adoption Approval All adoptions must be finalized and approved by the FJCASP Board. This ensures oversight by experienced individuals who can confirm that all parties understand their responsibilities and that the animal’s welfare is prioritized. Adopter Responsibilities It is part of our adoption agreement that all medical treatments, veterinary costs, preventatives, food, and shelter are the sole responsibility of the adopter. Our goal is to place each animal in a loving, safe, and permanent home, and these guidelines help us ensure that every adoption is successful for both the pet and the adopter.
