A Good Samaritan shared that he had been wandering around their neighborhood since last summer, surviving on his own for far too long before finally making his way to the shelter.

Despite everything he has been through, Henry has remained incredibly sweet and easygoing. He walks beautifully on a leash with no pulling or chaos — just a relaxed stroll by your side. His energy level is on the lower side, and he seems happiest simply sitting close to people and soaking up affection. If you are willing to pet him, Henry is more than happy to stay right there beside you.

Henry has done well around other dogs in shelter playgroups and during dog introductions. He calmly greeted another dog and was perfectly content coexisting nearby, though he seemed much more interested in getting attention from staff members than engaging in play. He appears to be a dog who enjoys companionship without needing to be the center of activity.

He is not overly interested in toys or treats right now and can seem a little unsure at times, but his gentle personality always shines through. After spending so long fending for himself, Henry deserves a soft place to land and a family who will finally give him the stability and love he has been missing.

Quick Facts:

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male (neutered)
Weight: 85 lbs
Breed: Lab Mix
Heartworm Status: Negative
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Not tested
Good with Kids: Likely yes
Potty Trained: Unknown
Crate Trained: Unknown
Leash Trained: Yes

Henry is ready to leave shelter life behind and become someone’s loyal, loving companion.
