Hella Jane's Story

Hey everyone! I’m Hella Jane! I've been in foster care for almost 3 years now and would really love to find my ultimate home but you must be SUPER dog savvy and understand that I will use my mouth in a very inappropriate way if I'm not in the right home. If you apply for me and get the opportunity to meet me, I'll have to wear a muzzle. My foster mom has protected me for 3 years now to ensure that I don't make any bad decisions that will land me in doggy heaven. I know there is someone out there who understands this and will be my best human friend.

People call me a big regal mastiff queen. I look like a giant beautiful black lab but am most likely some sort of mastiff mix weighing 115-120lbs and I'm about 4-5yrs old now and just started getting some gray on my chin this year. I’m up to date on vaccines, HW negative, fully house and crate trained. I’ll bark at you and start doing my potty dance if you slack on your duties to let me out.

I am the most lovable giant but I have some PTSD from my past so I need you to understand my needs. Once I trust you, I fully trust you. We’ll be besties in no time but I need you to understand that strangers scare me so I do best with first greets wearing a muzzle because of my size.

Here are my NEEDS:
- My ideal home is where it's just me and my human
*my foster mom said the rescue doesn't like to promote dogs for protection but if you want a dog that will make you feel safe, that is 100% ME!

- a quiet home with 2 people max with not a lot of comings and goings (I’ll go quietly in my crate though, if you have guests)
- a home with a large fenced yard
- a loving and patient human

My wants:
- a home with another large dog that I can play with (I do need a proper intro and I have to wear a muzzle when I first meet a dog since my mouth is quite big and its for everyone's safety)
- someone who will buy me Cheetos because they’re my favorite treat
- a couch or chair that I can sit in to stare outside

No Go’s:
- no cats or small animals (I have a high prey drive)
- Preferably no small dogs. I forget how big and strong I am sometimes.
- NO CHILDREN

I currently live in a home with a 9yr old child, and other dogs and sometimes interact with new incoming fosters. I was wary of my human foster sister at first but she showed me that not every child teases dogs and because of that we became besties. She was so patient with me. My PTSD involves being teased so it’s best if I live in a home with no kids and a home with not many people. I sometimes torment the fluffy little dog so I’d prefer a fur sibling that can handle my size and playful goofy side.

I know sit and lay down. I’m not food or toy aggressive and I like doing zoomies but you better watch out because sometimes my legs don’t stop! I love playing with toys so I really need a basketful of them.

If you think you could be my human, apply for me at www.foreverchangedar.org/adopt-a-pet
