The shelter staff were doing everything they could for her and made sure she was safe and cared for, but it was clear she needed a calmer, more supportive environment, and our team knew they could not leave her there.<br/><br/>She was quickly pulled into rescue and placed in a foster home where she could finally decompress and begin healing.<br/><br/>Since then, Helen has had surgery to remove her eye and a severely infected tail, and she has recovered beautifully. She may need another eye removal in the future, which Beyond Rescue will cover.<br/><br/>Helen is blind, but she does not let that define her. Once she learns her surroundings, she moves through the world with confidence and ease. She enjoys a predictable, safe home, loves being near people, and can be a little bossy in the cutest way with other dogs.
