Helen's Story

If you’ve ever dreamed of having an adventure dog, a truffle pig, and a couch potato all in one, Helen might be your girl. She has a quirky way of communicating—tail wags, occasional barks, and adorable piggy snorts when she’s sniffing for treats or asking for pets. She’s kennel trained, fully house broken, and loves lounging on a dog bed or couch until you come home. At night, she’ll follow you from room to room as you settle in, then happily sleep under the bed, on the floor, or right next to her people.

Helen currently lives with two young cats and a senior dog. With slow, supervised introductions, she’s likely to get along with most animals. After a quick sniff, she’s ready to engage, especially with dogs who respect her cues and give her space when she walks away. She’s gentle with kids, takes space when she needs it, and has never met a human who didn’t instantly fall in love. She’s not very vocal, but she will bark on walks when someone approaches or when someone comes to the door.

Helen is a mellow, quirky sweetheart with so much love to give. If you’ve ever wanted to adopt the perfect dog, she may be the one.

Helen is spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

If you’re interested in adopting her, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt).
