Heffalump's Story

Meet Heffie!

Heffie has been doing well in her foster home, and in that short time she’s truly blossomed. While her foster family crates/separates dogs when they’re away, Heffie has been doing great interacting with both dogs and cats in the home.

She enjoys pack walks and playtime in the yard, where she’s playful with her foster sibling El Pablo and the larger resident dog, Magnolia. She’s also had no issues with the two smaller resident dogs—what initially looked like a scuffle was actually Heffie trying to initiate play. She has zero prey drive, shows no interest in squirrels, and is non-reactive to unfamiliar dogs at a distance while on walks. Slow introductions and fence greetings are used for new dogs, but Heffie tends to be mostly disinterested.
Heffie is non-destructive and perfectly content being left home alone—no crate needed. She’s happy to keep the couch warm and will greet you with her whole heart when you return.

She’s still building confidence, but she listens well, wants to please, and does the cutest little happy dance when she’s told she’s a good girl. She tends to feel more comfortable around women, and once she bonds with her person, she is fiercely loyal. Her foster calls her a true Velcro dog—always by your side, always devoted, always ready to love.

Heffie would thrive as the star of the home, soaking up all the attention, cuddles, and affection she adores. She’s ready to be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your biggest fan.

Heffie is ready to find the person or family who will cherish her just as much as she’ll cherish them.
